is this going to be undermount or dropin? -
and what type of countertop do you have? -
Honey just call your local home improvement store and give them the specifics on your sink and counter top they will be helpful. Im sure. I use my local store to help with sooooo.... many things they seem more than happy to help. -
I am specifically asking about the putty used around the drain basket, not the caulking around the outside/under the edge of the sink. My cabinet installer used the correct clear silicone caulk for the seal around the drop-in sink and across the backsplash of the formica countertop. -
silicone will work but you will not be able to remove it. Plumbers putty should not be used on natural stone products, due to the oil in the putty that will bleed into and stain the stone. I did see a no oil putty at my local big box store, I have never used it. -
Silicone is the stuff to use as Plumbrite said, putty will stain the stone. No real worry about removal as this is not something you will be doing anytime in the future.
