Midwestern Cape Cod Tour (Debbiedoo's Home Tour Series)#hometour

I am thrilled to be over at Debbie's today. Debbie has a wonderful collection of home tours from all over! I led Debbie through our entire home and also narrated a video tour for you. Hope you can stop by!
I am in the middles of updating our porch with a beach theme.
We added x moldings in the window and beams throughout the kitchen. We also updated the light fixtures with affordable choices.
We made a small mater bedroom work by putting the bed in front of the window, and painting the walls white.

Hi 'a casarella! The island is oak and we sanded it down because it had this strange coating on it. They were hiding such beautiful wood underneath. We then stained it with mahogany and polyurethaned it with several coats. I thought it would be difficult to maintain, but it's holding up excellent. Just wipe with water/windex when needed. I am sure not to put food on it though. I use a cutting board for any prep. Hope that helps!
