Turn old dresser into an outdoor planter!

http://eclecticallyvintage.com/2012/05/dress...

Use outdoor paint, line drawers with garbage bags and use bricks in back of drawers so they don't tip.

very cool - have to have my wife plant & take care of the greenery though - I'd have draws full of brown, dead leaves, ha!

@Angie C. & Connie H.: Actually, if you click on the link to her blog she gives all the details there. She lined the drawers w/plastic & planted directly

into the soil - does not appear to be pots.

In the interest of keeping the piece from detriorating I think keeping the plants in pretty pots then setting them inside the drawers is something I might try! If you wanted to create the ...»

illusion of the drawers being planters you could probably camoflage the pots by adding sheet moss - but you'd need to keep it misted so it wouldn't turn brown. Oh my, this just got complicated!! LOL

@EC - see how you get our minds churning??? You give us the "seeds" by planting ideas and then we start nurturing them and we end up with completely new ideas!!! Your idea was super and I love how you created this!!

Glad you all like this! The dresser wasn't in good shape to begin with (a $6 thrift shop score). Holes were punched in the bottom of drawers for drainage @Angie C.

if the pots can be lifted out they could be watered on the ground/deck in front of it and allowed to drain so they wouldn't wet the draws!!!! hahaha
