What is this kind of sprinkler called?

Jacalyn on Jun 18, 2016When he was small, my youngest son called this type of sprinkler a "rascal," presumably for the sound it made. Is it called a rotating sprinkler? There should be a couple of pins under the top mechanism that you can move to limit the area it sprays. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Linda on Jun 19, 2016it's an impules sprinkler, there should be two clip looking things on the stem, below the actual sprinkling part that adjust the left and right "travel" limits. There will be a small lever thingie hanging down that will strike these and reverse the direction. You should also be able to flip that lever up and out of the way of the limiter clips to allow the sprinkler to make a full circle.Helpful Reply

Lyn on Jun 19, 2016The two metal "clips" on the bottom are used to spray in less than than 360 degrees. by flipping the little "S"shaped bit above them towards the metal clips, it stops spraying in a clockwise direction and sprays anti-clockwise until it reaches the little silver stopper on the other side, where it sprays clockwise etc. To prevent it spraying a single stream of water screw the screw on the water jet in and it spreads to more of a mist spray.Helpful Reply

Sue2013 on Jun 20, 2016There are two levers under the sprayer to move to stop the spray at the places you want to have watered. You can place one to the left and one to the right, but if you want the sprinkler to go all around there is a U shaped lever in the back of the sprayer that you pull up and it will spray all in a circle when the water is turned on. I hope this helps.Helpful Reply
