Mudroom Cubbies, Beadboard, and Benches

Complete renovation of a New England mudroom. Transformed my client's 6x12 entryway, which had been an outdoor landing in the past. The walls got Nantucket beadboard wainscoting to about 75" from floor, capped with 7" of custom poplar chair rail. The cap has a 5" shelf supported by custom brackets from 4/4 poplar. The kids got cubbies integrated into a bench and lockers constructed of 3/4" plywood (and a 4/4 divider) and poplar faceframes.
On the floor, I removed paint on the concrete prior to adding Red Guard membrane and 12x24 porcelain tiles. The popcorn ceiling was freshened with new drywall and a soffit for the HVAC. I dressed up the soffit with 1/4" pine slats to imitate wood paneling.
The adults got shelving and a custom bench with shoe storage.
