Composting With a Rolling Compost Pile

Composting is a great way to use kitchen scraps and garden waste to turn it into rich organic matter. There are lots of ways to compost and many types of bins to do the job. I love my rolling compost pile the best.
I have tried various methods of composting. I don’t like large wooden bins. I find them cumbersome and awkward to get to the finished compost. Commercial bins are great but expensive. My preference is a rolling compost pile.
Basically, you add compostable materials to one pile at one end of your garden and keep adding until it gets to about 3 or 4 feet tall.

Interesting method of composting. In a perfect world I would have plenty of space and no neighbors, but sigh....You asked how we sift our compost-to be honest I don't. I "eyeball" the shovelful and if I see anything I toss it back. I figure if it is small enough it can finish decomping wherever I put it.
