Handmade Plant Paper Artwork

White Oak Studio Designs
by White Oak Studio Designs
I turn my garden plants into highly textured plant papers. Then use them to create my artwork. It's a time-consuming process that includes; growing, harvesting, air drying, soaking, beating and then making individual sheets of paper full of inclusions-almost 100 hours of hand labor per fiber combo. Those papers are eventually adhered to stretched canvas as wall art, are cast into bowl forms or end up lining the drawers of my hand-painted vintage furniture transformations. This is a cool form of "recycling." I sell my artwork in shops and on-line.
