Indoor Rug outdoors

I have an indoor rug that has outlived its usefulness indoors, but I would hate to toss it (I like the colors). Is it possible to use outdoors on the deck knowing full well that it won't survive as long as a outdoor rug?

Not sure why you cannot use it outside....if its a real close plush thing will get soaked with water, a lot of stuff will stay within the fibers of it, but esp if you have it in a place it won't get wet you should be fine. I would watch for mold when it does get wet that it doesn't sit in water etc. I bring some of my rugs indoors rolled up in the winter. But really can't hurt to try it right?

You could coat it with exterior poly and maybe get a year or two out of it.
