You are a dear, thoughtful husband! It looks great! -
Nice of you...great job. My husband is from Aberdeen,Wa -
Wow that was a heavy job. Looks very nice. -
Jason S................a word of caution..............flagstone becomes addictive. I began with a very small area, and it seems every time I have a block of time on my hands, I extend the flagstone. Be careful out there! -
Where do you find your flagstone? -
well brother you mabey should have charged it to her account and had her carry them.lol im just kidding all.but theres nothing better to make a home really change apearence then adding some nice stone flat work inside or out that looks really nice with outer edges like that should consider follow ing that walkway around to the front door and a stone mailbox out front..nice work -
lol @ Becky hehehe -
lol @ Becky H. You are soo right. Look at these pictures. My wife wanted a spa, so I installed one (btw, 240v electrical work can be scary). But it left a weird corner, so I used some of the left over stone to fill it in. -

@ Stephenie K, yes it was very heavy. But worst of all flagstone placement is a giant puzzle game. I don't move each stone once, but instead about 5 times. And I bought a whole pallet! I still have some left over. My wife wants me to replace the stone fire pit with a flagstone fire pit. What do you think I will do?... :-)-

@ Kelly F Flagstone here in Washington is pretty common. But I paid for the pallet at the local bark and gravel dealer. They really like me there. :-) -
@ Rose S I think I will have another beer, thank you. Alaskan Amber and a kiss from my wife is my favorite treat after a day of hard work. Mmmm... -
Aw Jason, go ahead and build her the flagstone firepit cause I really need those round rocks for my rock garden - ok??? -
Jason, you've learned that when momma's happy, EVERYONE is happy! Good for you and would love to see pics of the new fire pit. -
you did it again Jason! very nicely done! I love it. -
Hey Jason--love the work. We live on South Hill--just a stone's throw from Graham. I know what you mean about flagstone--very heavy, but looks great when you're done. And as wet as it is most of the year up here, it will be nice for you and your wife to not have to get out of your vehicles on to the wet grass. -
We added to the width to our driveway with brick. We have an "apron" of the same brick at the entrance to our driveway coming off the street. And to carry out the theme, we put a 1 brick wide "finishing off" brick on each side of the sidewalk and on our porch edges. It looks very good, I must say! It was my husband's idea. Sorry, I don't have a good picture. -
do the firepit! It will look great! -
Thank you Marg - cuz I want him to send me those rocks!! -
Very nice! -
@Susan S Its funny you ask for the rocks, because, as #Dana B.P knows, this part of Washington is ALL rock. My back yard was pure rocks when I bought the house. I went to Iraq for 6 months and dreamt of the perfect landscape. It took me 5 years and it is now nearly complete. Just one more project with the fire pit. Ah, who am I kidding, there is always "one more project..." -
Well, we're all glad you made it home and THANK YOU for serving our country!! And yes, clearly you are a bit delusional to even "think" you're anywhere close to being done!!! You learn pretty quick don't cha!! LOL -
using your imagination while fighting a war...love it! And I too want to welcome you home and thank you for your service to our country. Your wife must be very proud :) -
Jason, I salute you. -
There is always one more project. It seems that I haven't even finished a project and there's another one waiting. I am currently working on one and have at least two waiting for me to start on--hope our weather gets a little better soon. 54° in the afternoon is way too cool for June. I had to dig a number of holes recently and it takes hours getting past the rocks on this hill in the lowlands of Mt. Rainier. Keep up the good work Jason. -
I know what you mean Dana! The weather here in NY has been miserable and wet so i'm waiting also!
