question about mini split systems versus traditional split system hvac.

am i better off in the areas of efficiency, total cost and performance replacing my existing 8 seer system with a ductless mini split system? there would be 4 rooms to heat and cool. i would prefer the ceiling cassette type delivery system rather than the exposed high wall units.

Yes you are. 8 Seer units are very expensive to use. There are a few mini split systems available today. Some can be attic mounted with a small duct system for a few rooms. Others offer a wall or ceiling mounted unit and can have a few inside units connected to just one outdoor style. Still others use a special wall mounted unit that is hidden behind a picture frame so you do not even see the blower. ...»
