What can I paint my plastic-ish outdoor furniture cushions with?

I have metal framed outdoor furniture that needs an overhaul. The cushions are made from a plastic/vinyl/ canvas type of material. I don't know what will work without flaking off and am nervous to try something and ruin it!
It's not the best picture but this is a close up of the cushion.

You can try Rustoleum spray paint for plastic. If you are not sure, then do a test in a hidden area.

Leather dye would probably work. It doesn't cling to some types of faux leather, so I'd do a test patch then leave it to dry and see if it can be scraped off!

Do a Google search for "spray plastic for fabric". This will give you several options, and I would talk to experts in the paint department of the stores that carry these products.

I still have some of my son's toddler bed sheets so I put one over one cushion to test it. It seems to stay in place fairly well when people get up . However I ordered some sheets straps to hold them in place anyway. If it works out pretty well I may just stick with those as the furniture is on a screened in, covered porch. Thank you again!

Go to your auto parts store and buy vinyl spray paint. Its for plastic car seats/dashboards so will not flake or peel. Or go to auto paint specialists and get a spray can made up in the color you want.

Hi Brad: would this paint work for plastic wicker also? I need to repair the plastic wicker also and not sure if it's worth the time and effort.

If its plastic of any sort the auto vinyl paint should recolor it rather than just putting a coating over it which later peels off. Try an underneath section first.

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint will work on the metal frames as well as the canvas/plastic or whatever your cushions are made of. It may take longer than using spray paint but I've seen many items that have been painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint & they look great. Just Google Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to find a Stockist near you & if you can't find one near you check out The Purple Painted Lady ~ I believe she's in New York, but she ships and will probably be able to give you answers to any questions. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is only available through Stockists, not in big box stores.
