My Garage/Yard/Moving Sale Tips!!

One week ago I was able to pair up with some friends for my friend Anna's moving sale. It was a wonderful experience prepping for the yard sale as a team. So I thought I would share my tips for putting together a successful experience!!
Make Vignettes - Stage your items in a fashion that makes them look presentable and new! This will give your customer more of a visual of how that item could work in their home. VISUALS ARE IMPORTANT!!!
Have a Free Pile/Box - This helps draw customers in (along with signs and social media postings). It can also entertain kids while their parents are shopping!
1. Marketing - Signs Signs Signs!! I think for this quadruple sale we made about 15 signs and posted them on major streets and cross streets in the area the day before the sale. We brought out all of our arts and crafts for this, such
2. Price Tags - PUT THEM ON EVERYTHING!! There are in fact some people that come to garage sales not expecting to haggle. They will pay what you are asking for. Soooo...unless someone makes you a different offer (especially earlier in

When I prepare for a yard sale, I have an empty box in the spare bedroom with price stickers next to it....when I come across an item I want to put in my sale, I price it and stick it in the box. Saves a lot of time come yard sale time...items are already priced...all I have to do is set the yard sale up...no stress of having tons of items to sell and having to price them the night before the sale :)

Please fill in holes in your yard, before having a yard sale. A few years back, I was looking at merchandise in a grassy area, stepped in a very large hole, grown over with grass.

If I had had weak bones, or had been older, I definitely would have broken my ankle and leg.

Idk why, but I was embarrassed that it happened to me, when the home owner should have been embarrassed and apologized. Maybe asked if I was ok, as she saw me fall in the hole.

So please, check your property for dangers to “Garage Salers,” as they/we are known by. ☺️
