Cheap and Easy Customized Pendant Lighting

I was looking for an out of the box lighting fixture for my son's nursery and I was leaning towards a pendant but didn't really want to pay the $100.00 + price tag I was seeing so I decided to make my own!
After!!
Before this was a $19.00 Hampton Bay Pendant I purchased at Home Depot, meant for the garage.
The unfinished inside of the pendant
After taping up the holes on top I sprayed the inside of the pendant with a metallic brass spray paint.
Since you'd see the inside of the pendant I decided to use a silver tipped light bulb, not only is it prettier but it also diffuses the light.
The fixture was easy to makeover and easy to install and looks so much more expensive than it actually was!!!

This could be another possibility for a kitchen pendant light fixture for my "country" themed kitchen, only I'd paint it a different color. My accent colors in my kitchen are red & black, so maybe a bright red paint would be used.
