You could paint it and use it as a magazine rack or for a decorative indoor storage piece. I've also seen people drill hooks into an old shutter and use it as a place to hang their coats.

I think maybe you could use it to organize your mail, or bills, the same way Cara suggested for the magazines. You could put cup hooks on it and put it near your door to hang keys, the dog's leash, etc. on. Do the louvers move, or are they fixed in place? My closet doors have louvers that don't move. I hung an over-the-door rack on it, for jewelry, by putting a loop of thin rope on each side, at the top, and putting the loops through a slot in the lovers, and running a dowel rod through the loops on the back, so the loops can't pull back through. If I want to take it down, I'd just pull out the dowel, and it would come off. Or, if your shutter moves up and down, how about this (I like this idea!): Turn the shutter sideways. Paint a message on the louvers. Flip the louvers the other way, to reveal the other side. Paint a different message on the other side. You could have it say "Open/Closed", "Have fun at work!/ Yay! It's the weekend!", or whatever you want.

If a phone can't find a word it will pick one...mine makes me do it with a space in between each letter. That is probably the case. Pat you can also connect with a door hinge and close them enough to put boards in for a outdoor planter or indoor book case or curio shelf. I hope that was helpful.
