Frances this is really beautiful!! The red bench seat & lumbar pillow is so smart looking w/the drama of the black!! Beautifully done and you have an heirloom piece that belonged to your grandfather!! How neat!!

I have done 3 or 4 of these....They are easy and fast. People will throw out old bed frames and well you know...One man's trash in another man's treasure......GREAT job!!!!!!!!

It is a head board in the back, the arms are the foot board cut in half, simple frame surround for the cushion. the paint is brown and black mixed till a dark mocha.

I hate the idea of Cutting up a hard Rock Maple bed when that wood cannot even be had now! LOL!!! Let me tell you I found a dresser of Hard Rock Maple for my Grandbaby and I would LOVE to have a twin bed to go with it! If you have two maybe you could sell ONE to someone else that would love to have it!

I love this idea. I'm having such a hard time just finding a headboard for a full size bed!! Don't want to spend an arm and a leg for one.

My sister has our mom and dad's old set - would make a great bench. I am not handy with that - but I know a local gal that does this for a living!!
