I decided it was time to spruce up my deck. It leads to our pool and we tend to use it as a pathway to the pool and into the house, we don't spend much time out there but who would want to; it's boring and not inviting at all. I've been working on projects inside our house so the deck has been ignored and gone untouched for too long. I had chairs that hung out on the deck by the fire pit. They were old but I didn't want to go out and by four new ones because, aside from being ugly and boring, the chairs were in good condition and I couldn't see just throwing them away. I was going to try changing out the sling fabric first but at $14.95 a yard; it would have been less expensive and less work to just buy new chairs. I decided to try spray painting them, if it didn't work out then it wasn't a huge loss.
Old drab, faded chairs
First, I gave them all a good cleaning to make sure there was no debris on them.
I decided I wanted bright, fun colors! My Husband is Dutch, so we used a bright orange.
Next one got a vibrant blue.
Candy apple red...you can see the lines in the chair a bit so I'll be giving this one another coat of spray paint.
And just because I love green; key lime pie! I think I need to stencil the first letter of our last name (it's S) on the back in white. What do you think?
They looks so much better now. Next up is the fire pit screen cover, it needs a spruce up with some black spray paint (you have to use a special one made for fire). We'll also be painting our deck and deck boxes. I can't wait to have a fun place to hang out! Maybe the deck won't be used as just a pathway to the pool anymore.

you did a great job!!!I love the colors! What kind of paint did you use? Has it faded or gotten worn out from the sun or rain?If I can pick up a used chair at a garage sale or agoodwilli'll do the same as you did for my elderly mom, who has a small balcony on her condo but can't afford to furnish it.
