Refinished Junk Desk

My husband and I went on an over night garage sale trip into the next state, we found lots of fun items and when we got back we also found a free Craig's list throw away desk. The desk teamed with a chair we found made a perfect children's desk!
Finished
Super cute child size chair that was 2 dollars, I already loved the natural wear of the finish but for this piece I did decide to redo it with black chalk paint
a curbside rescue, missing the drawer was easily fixed by adding a bottom and creating a storage pocket
an insulator vase/pencil holder was embedded wit a hole saw and some liquid nail.

I saw one in much better condition after I sold this one. It had the wings and drawer on it, I didn't know it was a vanity though. I sure wish it had been in better shape, such a lovely piece, considering we dug it out of a curbside trash pile! In the same pile we found a 1954 Lane cedar chest. some bottom damage but mostly in fantastic condition, including the ad with date made inside it!

Wish I could find a trash pile like that. Finding things like that here in Pa. is really difficult. We live right in the antique belt and things like this don't usually show up.Hoping your finds bring you good luck and sell fast.
