    My mom used to make braided rugs and when she needed to add another strip she would cut a slit in each end, pull one end through the other then pull the long end up and through the end with the slit pulled through. then pull the two lengths a wallah they are joined without any big bubbles or joins.

    Oh, and she also uses her old pantyhose legs as well to make rugs, same idea only use one leg per strip, made a pretty durable rug. Love all the ideas on here, and plan to start my own rug soon.
