Lingerie Chest Classy DIY Update!!

I am going to show you how I transformed my hand me down lingerie chest into a chic piece of furniture that looks lovely in my room! My lovely friend Betsy was nice enough to bestow this great piece of furniture upon me! (apologies for the incomplete before photo... but you get the idea) :)
This hand me down dresser was in shambles when I got it. Classy but a bit dated. I wanted to give it some pizazz! (see blog for more details)
My inspiration was this lingerie chest I found on etsy. Please check it out!
AFTER!!!!! I love love love it! It classes up my bedroom big time. :)
This was an all weekend project so make sure you allot enough time to complete it. I went shopping to purchase some supplies...you will need: (see blog for more info)
1. Sandpaper 2. Sander 3. Kilz Original 4. An acrylic latex paint of your choosing. 5. Floetrol - this helps with spreading the paint out evenly without brush stroke marks 6. Polycrylic - water based protective finish etc etc etc
You will take your sander and sand accordingly. (The goal is to remove any previous paint and/or get to a rougher surface so that the primer and paint stick later)
Once you have sanded all the drawers, go ahead and take your oil based primer and your angled brush (or small paint roller if you so choose) and paint a layer on to the drawers. (see blog for more info)
Once I was finished sanding dresser, I went back and began priming the dresser and painting my first "Pewter" layer of paint on my drawers. I also decided to add a little pizazz to the sides of the drawer by painting them red!
You will want to sand your piece to remove any paint and or stain. After sanded, you will want to paint with a first layer of paint...(see blog for more info)
While everything was drying (boy can that get boring to wait for) I decided to attack the hardware. Some may want to change out the hardware completely, but I like the hardware to big with. I wanted to just paint it one solid color....
