Frances...this is beautiful! I have no problem painting antiques..if they look sad, they get a face lift! I once painted a VERY expensive Duncan Phyfe table ( solid brass dragon-syle claws/crystal balls) and 8 chairs. My sister collects antiques and about died! Guess who owns it now and it is still black?..that's right, my sister and she wouldn't change a thing about it...lol...ENJOY you did a lovely job!

I have the same (or very similar bed) and was told it could not be painted, by my mother who claims she gave me the bed, my grandmother swapped beds with me after she broke a hip and could not get in/out of the bed. So...now that my mother is gone....dang, I gave the bed to my oldest daughter and I still can't paint it! LOL!
