  • If you are using acrylic craft paint you can still do a light "stain" by using a brown craft paint that is thinned with water. Paint it on and wipe off any excess. This should give a more earthy tone to it all, taking away the brightness of it. Before you do this make sure all the previous paint is fully dried so when you wipe off the brown you don't smear your great art work. It looks great!

Since you are using acrylic craft paint, I'd use a brown craft paint that has been thinned down with water, and paint that over it, quickly wiping it away, as if it was a traditional stain. I've done this before and it give everything a more earthly mid tone look. Make sure your current paint is completely dry before you "stain" it so that when you wipe you don't smear your masterpiece! Looks great!
