Don, Good question. Actually white cabinets are back in style, of the last 10 kitchens and bathrooms I have installed, 6 have been white, or off-white. Do you currently have white, or are you looking to upgrade your current kitchen?
I have some pix on here "La Jolla Remodel" If you look at those cabinets, they are white. They are highlighted with a medium brown in the recesses of the door and drawer grooves.
Also, look at the granite, tile in the background, etc.
So, even if cabinets are white, what is used in the remainder of the room makes a big difference in the overall look.
Personally, I think white cabinets still look up to date. I just had white cabinets put in with black granite counter tops and the contrast looks very modern
