It Isn't Too Late to Make Your Own Vegetable Garden!

I always try to get an early start on planting my vegetable garden each year, but that is just so I can have the satisfaction of watching everything grow. I live in the Northeast, so most of my plants don't start yielding a ton of veggies until July/August, so it isn't too late to go buy a few plants and begin a garden of your own!
I like to move my garden around to different locations each year, so first I had to find the perfect spot... I chose one side of my house in Pennsylvania that gets good sunlight but also has some pretty shaded spots too (from a few huge trees over there). It also helps that one of our hose-hookups to the house is like eight feet away from the "new spot." HINT: Try to keep that in mind when choosing your own location :) Here is a picture of the location before I created my garden (below).
I had a few plants (and some weeds) occupying the area already, so I cleared those out and then started to set up some various urns and planters to house my new vegetables! I already had most of the urns/planters, but one of my favorite new additions was from an old fire pit that my family and I had (even though we bought a new fire pit, I knew that I'd find a use for the old one)
Check out the "fir-pit-converted-into-cucumber-planter" above here!
After I had everything planted, I added a few fun decorations - like my stone bunnies and the fancy planting stakes you can see in the picture above.

Gardening doesn't have to be super difficult - a lot of it depends on the types of plants you choose to grow - check out more of my gardening and DIY tips/projects at Dell's Daily Dish!
