Male and female sagos?

Are these two different varieties of sago palms or are they sprouting these two different things in their center for fertilization. Sure would like to know more about this.

    Yes they are. The tall spike is the male and the other is the female.

    You will later see the female "flower" start to separate & expose reddish seed pods. You can harvest them - wear gloves as I have found the brown fuzz to cause itching. You can google methods to propagate new plants, but it can take quite a long time. You can also do nothing & the cycle will repeat in a couple of years.

    Please be careful with the reddish seed pods. You can grow more plants from the pods, and yes, it will take a long time. The how-to process can be found online in many videos. All the videos I've seen say to wear protective gloves when handling, as the insides of of the pods are toxic to humans and animals.
