Can you give us more information, and post a photo? What kind of desk? What are the colors in the room where it will go?

Then scuff it up with a sanding sponge, clean it with mild soap and water, rinse, prime with Zinzer 123 and paint it with a high quality enamel like Sher-Wms Pro-Classic. CP

If you are saying you have done nothing yet and it was teal when you got it, look around your room and see what is the LEAST noticed color in your room. Pull a shade of that color and use it on the desk. If it has been painted with enamel, enamel will cover it just fine again. Any other finish will need to be roughed up with fine sandpaper to make it porous enough to stick again. Good luck!
