I had my stairs done like this and loved it, however I could not stand the constant black marks on the risers from people's shoes, so i repainted the risers in a dark color and hated it, how do you keep the black marks off of the risers?

I don't mean to say this in a bad way, but for the most part no one walks in the house with shoes on. However, I did have some service men in that left a scuff mark. Vim and a damp cloth took it off. One other scuff mark was faint, but it bothered me.... but since I always have paint on the go in my house, I took a small disposable foam brush and just went over it lightly with the same paint. I absolutely love the white risers and since most everything else in the house requires maintenance, I don't mind putting in a little effort to keep them beautiful now and again.
