Oh thank you so much. My friend just broke a huge pot so I am going to collect the pieces to use on another. Now to find a partially broken pot or Ewww..... crack one just for the sake of decor. heheh
Jan, I have been looking and looking for broken pottery - lowes, home depot, few garden centers - none will sell them. An ideas where else I can try b/4 breaking them myself?
I would check out of the way nurseries or with friends that do a lot of gardening or hit the thrift stores and buy the old chipped pieces that you won't mind breaking up. Other then that, you might have to find a sale, usually at the end of summer on terra cotta pots and..... well.... grab your hammer and a pair of protective glasses and take out your aggression on a one large one and use that to create something special in the one that you have saved. It is hard to break out the front

sometimes but if you put a towel or something to keep the hit from shattering it all you should be fine, I did use a lot of old bark from sliced log steps for some of the retaining walls.
Terri J, Since you live near me, go to Ollie's Outlet, or even maybe Grabriel Bros. There's a pretty good Goodwill in Shrewsbury, or try Farmer's Daughter. Also, find Auctionzip on line and see when the next auction is in Glen Rock. Usually every other Tuesday.
I have plenty of broken pottery. Still looking for uses for the pottery pipes and this useful design may speed me in the development of something per, anent for them all using the pipes.
I can foresee great things coming from Pottery pipes for sure. If you were to build up from one large pot by adding the pottery pipes you could build little homes or scenes in them like a condo of sorts. Be sure to post pics
Just type in Terracotta pipe in your search engine and look at images and you will see. They are down spouts, underground pipe, Chimney pipe and so much more.
