So Long "sea of Oak"!

Ruthie
by Ruthie
Our outdated kitchen was literally a "sea of oak" from the floors to the cabinetry. Here is how we transformed it into a fresh, updated space.
lightly sanded oak cabinets
primed fronts of all drawers and cabinets
replaced counter tops and painted over the burgandy tiles on backsplash
Happy, bright new kitchen! Now there is a contrast between floor and cabinets
painted the mantel too
added simple accessories
LOVE our new kitchen

What type of paint did you use for the cabinets? Does the oak grain show through at all? Do you know what grit sandpaper you used? Thanks!
