I need a bedroom door and I'm wondering, does the contractor paint the door white before putting it in a new home? Where do you buy one that is already white.

Check your local hardware store, they should carry them usually it is just primed. But I figure white is white. I have a bathroom door that is white and I have never painted over it. Check it out.

You can buy doors that are unprimed, primed, or pre-painted. If you want the contractor to paint it, it should be painted before it is hung.

If you can't find pre-painted locally, Lowe's or Home Depot can special order them for you. Just talk to someone in the door department.

Paint before hanging on a horizontal surface like a table, much easier and you can do it yourself in an hour.

Most of the big box stores carry white doors but the white is primer. Having a primed door will make painting it white much easier.
