I created this memo board from wood and added a fun faux zinc finish. It's such a fun way to display your photos and the paint finish makes it look like such a high end piece for pennies!
I added metal flashing to the back to make it metallic and cut out the fun design with a template.
And drove 14 minutes at nine miles an hour behind a hay truck while I was waiting for it to dry. :)
The memo board is the perfect place to display photos. It can be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf.
Create a simple template for the top and trace with a pencil. Cut out the top with a saw.
The faux zinc finish was created by mixing two metallic paints and layering with a brush.
Cut out a piece of metal flashing and attach to the back with glue.
Here's a pencil holder made from a pallet board cut out with a saw. Attach the pencil holder to the bottom of the memo board.
Layering the metal paint truly makes it look like zinc. I used silver metallic and black metallic paint to create this look.
