Take a basic bargain bookcase and make it into a custom piece of furniture for $4 and a little bit of Mod Podge! I gave this a custom look with a collage of vintage lighthouses and lighthouse keepers and their families!
A bargain bookcase from WalMart for just $129 that you can customize and style for your home interior.
I bought this used book online for just $4! This would be perfect for creating a coastal/beachy themed bookshelf for my Mom !
Yes! I cut that book up...choosing the pictures I wanted of vintage lighthouses and lighthouse keepers and their families. All of these pictures were black and white and certainly vintage-looking.
I pieced the pictures together to make sure I was happy with the arrangement and the individual pictures I had chosen
I assembled the rest of the bookcase except for the back and the doors for the bottom section.
Next step was to use Mod Podge all of the pictures down to the backboard. They were left to dry overnight and then an additional coat of Mod Podge was applied.
The collage was left to dry and one final coat of Mod Podge to protect the collage.
The back was attached to the bookcase and the doors were attached to the bottom section.
All that was left was to style the shelves! All finished and adds a custom touch to this bargain bookcase!
