How we renovated the bedroom and bathroom in our 1920's bungalow. From UGLY and outdated to chic and cozy!

When we bought the house the room was covered in faux sponge painted wallpaper and the ceiling had glued on foam ceiling tiles.

The room had super old pull chain sconces and worn out orangey wood floors.

Our home is a bungalow and has a really cool loft type layout. The door in this photo goes to the very awkward (deep and skinny) closet. The bathroom is at the end of this "hall" to the right.

And here is the "lovely'' bathroom, complete with concrete shower.

We did so much work on this room! First we stripped and re-stained the floors ourselves to match our downstairs floors that we had professionally refinished.

We also had the old pull chain sconces taken out and replaced with outlets. We stripped the wallpaper and ceiling tiles.

Next we lightly textured the walls and ceiling, painted the walls Ebony Field by Valspar.

We relocated the closet door so that it faces the bed making a normal depth and wide closet- SO much easier to get to our clothes!!

We added barn door hardware and put up this awesome antique door with frosted glass for privacy.

We added a pretty mercury glass pull to the door for easy opening and closing.

We demoed the whole bathroom. Replaced the sink with a low profile cabinet and sink, tiled the shower and bathroom walls and added trendy industrial hardware.

I hope you liked our bedroom and bathroom remodel, I know we do!!

You really have that designer eye, and your bedroom and bathroom look as if you screen shot a photo from a magazine. You rock, I need you in my town. Love it!

Where’s Chip? I ask this, because I’m almost positive, you might be, Joanna Gaines, incognito. You got that knack, Ms. ♥️ Tompkins
