Add a vanity to a wall mounted sink

I am needing storage in a bathroom. The current sink is wall mounted so is there a way to add a vanity while keeping the wall mount sink which has a faucet I like a lot?
This is the sink in question and the space I like to add the vanity. Alternately, adding additional shelf/counter space could be helpful.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking to put things away behind closed doors while adding counter space.

You could also use an old low dresser or vanity and cut the top of it to fit the bottom of the sink.

Thank you, that idea sounds possible.
  • Hello, after looking at your picture. Unless you find a cabinet that is the same shape as the cabinet, you may very well have gaps. Finished height of a cabinet with granite is 36" from the ground. I would recommend that you find the cabinet you want and see if the fabrication shop can put a larger hole for the Pee trap of the sink to hang Through. This way it will appear as though you have a vessel. You will not have to worry if the shape of the sink will work or not. The counter top will cover any voids. You maybe able to purchase a vanity now that can fill the space on either side.

Unless your floor floats, you need to be very 'exact' on the height/fit or you will have gap issues that will haunt you every day and night. Easiest solution is to build so the fit is perfect. If retrofitting a piece of furniture, your height adjustment has to come form the floor using shims until the fit is perfect. You do not want to rely on caulking at the sink or wall to make or break this seal, you will never be happy.

I agree with both Johnchip (if you want a cabinet flush to the bottom of the sink) AND I also agree with JDKitchens (if you like the idea of making the current sink look like a vessel). Those are the only two good options that will work. They have given you the proper advice.

Well! First the secondary aspect of adding an additional shelf, a stone slab weather circular on any shape which suits your sink lower extension sort of for the hidden trap valve plumbing. , to what height you want to fix the stone slab depends on what level do you choose but advisable is at least between 2 to 3 feet above the floor level and 6 to 12 inches or lesser below the main sink, extra bounce away due to height the unavoidable splashes th9usually come out when using a sink, especially messing up the floor below. Idea is to make you are much liked sink 2 look someone like over the counter sinks And from here onwards work your way down to the floor weather vanity case having basic design concept of a u shaped cabinet with sides being fire and the central portion much slower than the base of the sink. And you may down lighting any other way to give it more aesthetically pleasing.. so this is the basic idea yes you can work out based on your individual preferences.. I would have given you a rough sketch but for already too much time spent on typing up this answer..., best of luck and go ahead

Add a bathroom storage cabinet on either side of the sink-I can see you have space on the one side anyway. I would choose cabinets which are higher than the sink. You could have these made or use pre-built uppers and put feet on them. This will give you the storage and counter space you need. I have done this for clients before and it looks very high end.
