My Odd Method for Choosing Towels & Washcloths

For years, I have stuck to ONLY white when it comes to bath towels and washcloths. There are several reasons why. Check out the post for all of them.
There are several reasons why I stick with white. The first is that white doesn't fade or show wear easily.
I do also use colorful towels for decorating. But we don't use them regularly.
I love the uniform look that white offers.

I use white for my face/wash cloths. I like to bleach them and make them fresh and white. When my other larger towels show fray at the ends, I just put them through the sewing machine with a straight stich and/or put some pretty edging on them. Recently, I sewed the small ecru doilies that you buy at the dollar store halfway on at the edge. Makes a pretty guest towel. The doily is soft, so it won't scratch and it hides any evidence of fraying. I have also used the doilies to edge a special blanket, so when it peeks out from underneath your other bedding, it is still pretty.

I've learned that RIT Whitening makes whites much whiter than bleach. When undies or whatever start to grey, I run several loads with the Rit and it is AMAZING!
    • @Mary Law No kidding! I've never even heard of this product but I am checking it out immediately. Thanks so much for the suggestion. :)
