Back yard planning

by Betty Drda
My back yard is very shady, morning and afternoon, however I am in Houston, Tx where temps are closing in on 100 degrees in mid July. I already have hostas growing in various places in my rough in gardens. I have an adult size tricycle that screams to be painted a beautiful color. A black wrought iron arbor with a gate, which also screams to be painted, and a bottle tree.
I'm looking for help with placement of more plants and the arbor and tricycle. The new plants are native to this area and should grow well. The list of names are in growing height order with the tallest first. Pagoda, has peach flower, Ligalaria, big leaves, ginger satin sheets and Persian shield.
I would appreciate any help you will give. Thanks. Betty
I have attached pics of my backyard.
View from my bedroom.
Starting from the left side. Garden 1.
Garden 2
Behind the oak tree. Arbor and tricycle. Their are baskets attached to it which can hold flowers. Garden 4
Garden 3
Fountain with butterfly bushes. Garden 5
To the right of the fountain. Just removed a huge philodendron so it is an empty space. Garden 6
New plants. Garden 7

I expect you're going to get numerous responses to your question, as there are a lot of creative gardeners in Hometalk Land. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them, but thought I'd share what I did when faced with a similar situation. I waited until our local garden center had a sale on landscaping design and asked them to prepare one ($49.00), then did the planting myself on my timeline. Worked out great for me. Please share pictures of the final product.
