Garden Art and Features

We bought a house with 1/2 acre of 'garden' which is basically bushland on a sloping block. The block has a steep incline, a bit of a 'valley' and then another incline. We did a lot of clearing of noxious weeds and fallen branches and installed a raised veg bed on the only flat bit of land that gets enough sun for vegie growing. As we are in the mountains the soil is acidic and very poor. So until we can get some plants going, I decided to add some pops of colour around the garden with some home made features.
Roadside find - oak chair - painted white with blue Mexican oilcloth -sitting among the rhododendrons
A statue of Ned Kelly next to a tree stump planted up with a strawberry plant
Hollow log pulled from front yard and planted up with succulents
Fruit bowl on the ground with coconut basket liner and planted up with purple blob succulent.
Neighbours donation of old rusty barrow - planted up with strawberry plants
Inverted wire hanging basket with yellow plastic chain and a white woven heart
Discarded rusty star picket for a stand, old clothes and a broom handle - he's not scaring anyone!
succulents sitting on a grate set on tree stumps. The grate was found buried in the garden
seed spreader sourced on ebay planted up with fan flowers

Thanks Alexandra, the log was still in the ground - the remains of a small tree - completely dead and hollow but it was a task of grim determination, rocking it back and forth till its roots released it from the ground. Then I had to get it into the wheelbarrow to take out the back garden. It was extremely heavy!
