Can someone please identify this bug? Sure is buggy this year.

Looks like a ground beetle to me. As far as I know, they are pretty harmless to plants, but they like to eat other bugs. That's a good thing, right? http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/common_black_ground_beetle.htm

This looks like a Stink Bug. Don't let any in your house because, as the name implies , they smell terrible.

I have them too. I think they are wood burrowing beetles. Thank goodness mine are outside.
