Dream Garage

Kristi L. Bilyeu on Jul 20, 2016To save floor space, I've seen a few good ideas. Build "tracks" on the ceiling where you can slide totes on them for storage. Put up a couple of ceiling mounted racks for ceiling storage. They even have these that use an electric winch to lower them down when you need something...very cool :) Also, I have a neighbor that framed up storage all around three sides of his garage. They basically looked like simple, square cabinets without doors. I like those really well because they saved floor space, yet they were easy to reach things without having to get a ladder.Helpful Reply

Carol Brown Hargrave on Jul 21, 2016Not use what El Paso's climate is but I think it's similar to the Phoenix area. We bought an insulating kit for the door (Home Depot, about $50) that made our south facing garage more tolerable year around. Your garage concept looks awesome! May it remain so pristine!Helpful Reply

Marilyn Zaruba on Jul 23, 2016This is every woman's dream garage and I plan to tackle mine in another 20 years when I get my house exactly as I like it. I'll be 93 then...wonder if that gives me enough time. I love those dropped shelving units they have for garages now that use the space over the car hoods. So many marvelous ideas out there. You need to do a lot of research and if money is no problem, yours will be beautiful...if you are on a budget, take it slow and see what you can scrounge. One of my neighbors gave away a huge tool chest today so there are great things that people are donating. Check Craigslist.Helpful Reply
