These lovely lilies never cease to surprise and to charm me as they appear each summer as if by magic. Lycoric squamigera or Surprise Lily displays its foliage in the early spring and the blooms appear late July early August. I share growing tips if you'd like to include this charming flower in your garden.

These lilies do require lots of sun, but spring weather conditions may be your problem. Too wet or too dry of a spring will impact the foliage which in turn impacts the flowers. Never cut or mow over the foliage and if you have a dry spring, water the foliage to keep it healthy and green. Hope this helps!

my beautiful lilies were being shaded tooooooo much, which they weren/t before, so after realizing that maybe they weren't getting enuf sun, I & a pal cut back a lot of the apple tree & a lot more sun is on them now., went out today & they are so happy to get the sunshine I have about 24 that have come up,shoots that will make the beautiful lilies.....so happy
