It's a fact of life, we love our pets, but I bet when you got that cute little puppy, you didn't think about what his activities would do to your beautiful gardens or how you'd need to teach the kids to watch out for the "land mines" he leaves in the yard.
In the link I offer some helpful tips for giving your dog healthy boundaries when it comes to the great outdoors.

most dogs love a pool of their own, especially on those very hot days
an outdoor play area of any size will keep him entertained
a makeshift obstacle course teaches trust, obedience and is fun
keep burned grass to a minimum with designated "potty" areas

Great article Dee! Installing artificial grass in your backyard would be another great way to share your backyard with your pets. You would never have to worry about patches of dead/yellow grass. With artificial grass, you can have a beautiful, low maintenance lawn year round. Simply just hose the artificial grass down every now and then after your pups go to the bathroom.
