Twin Bed to Bench

Nothing new, just used my daughter's child's headboard and footboard to make a bench for her boyfriends family as a house warming gift. I thought about using it for armrests but they are really too low for that. First I cut off the finials on the footboard. Made a simple 2x4 seat brace and then attached the two to it. I also found this awesome outdoor fabric on clearance and attached it to the bottom board and then screwed the board into the brace. I thought that would help with preventing splinters. When I first started the headboard was white so I painted it with blue outdoor paint, which I liked but it was just too blue. So then it got sanded in random areas and glazed with a dark sealent.
