Add Charm To A Living Room With A Wall Pattern

1 Material
When it comes to styling a living room, stencil designs can totally transform the space by giving it a special charm and a touch of personality. Wall stencils are an easy and affordable way to add a touch of pattern to an accent wall. Today we’re going to share with you a living room transformation that included a beautiful stencil pattern. Come take a look...
We'd like to introduce Heather, the creative crafter behind the blog The Swifty Crafter. Ever since moving into her house, Heather has been working on transforming it into a home with one DIY project at a time. On that list was the living room. She wrote this about the living room project, " Function, comfort and style were the inspiration for our living room." Here is what the space looked like before its update.
Heather disliked the golden yellow hue so she repainted the living room using Sherwin Williams's Lazy Grey. The light gray hue instantly opened up the space. Heather had a friend who introduced her to wall stencils. She instantly fell in love with the idea of painted wall designs because of the simplicity to apply and affordability. She browsed our large collection of wall patterns and selected our Flock of Cranes Allover Stencil. This whimsical bird stencil captures graceful movement of a flock of migrating birds. It's perfect for adding a small amount of pattern to walls or furniture.
With the stencil design in hand, Heather was ready to start stenciling! She painted the nature-inspired pattern in a silver metallic hue, Benjamin Moore's Metallic Silver. She used blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dense foam roller to paint the pattern. Our stencil essentials kit contains all of the supplies needed to complete a project like this one. After each section was complete, Heather would un-tape the stencil and reposition so she could paint the entire accent wall.
Once the stencil was complete, Heather placed her sectional sofa, two reupholstered arm chairs, and flat screen TV back into the room. Are you ready to see how this all turned out? Here is Heather's stenciled living room.
Heather had this to say about her stenciled living room project, "I loved and still love it! Depending on where you are standing you can see the reflection of the light because it’s metallic paint."
We love how she carried the flock of birds stencil across the two walls. The nature inspired pattern adds charm and character to the living room.
