Rustic Cottage Wooden Tote

It all begin with a girl who was looking for a tomato cage in her garage attic... and then she found so much more.. I found two wooden totes, a box of medium size floor tiles, several pieces of lattice, old tv boxes... something was going to be turned in a diy home decor project :) Here's what I did...
FYI... my garage does not look this bad now...I swept the floor :) and put away the goodies..
Here is what the unfinished tote looked like after I sanded it and wiped it down
Stained Wooden Totel Directions:

Sanded a little more to make it smoother

Applied one coat of espresso stain

Sanded it again to slightly distress it

Applied one coat of poly - satin finish

It was too shiny, so I lightly sanded it again.
Chalk Paint Rustic Wooden Tote Directions:

Sand until you like the feel

Apply two coats of cream chalk paint

Distress until you like the look - I use a sand block

Apply one coat of wax
If you are wondering what where I found the liner for the totes... Marshalls!!!! - they are fabric place mats... It was a perfect match and they have really cute tassels on the edges..
