I just love that brick is come in to the decorating play .......I had researched different options such as brick panels, wallpaper but the I got the idea of just faux painting it myself
There are steps that would have to be taken to achieve the final look .I choose to do the dining room backsplash on a built in. You can choose the various colors then dab them onto a flat surface that a sponge can be dabbed onto. Taking care not to mix the colors up. Then just take the sponge and dab it onto the paint and form your brick on the wall do not sponge too hard just lightly
Then take a small brush and brush between the bricks with white paint this is the faux mortar. Let dry...........once dry take the sponge and hit the bricks again but with more force and it should look like this.
Once the bricks are totally dry the last step will be to take some white paint mixed with water and paint on the wall doing a tiny bit at a time and then taking a rag and dabbing it on the wet paint, be sure you scrunch up the rag
once dry it should look like this. This whole process was done on a wood paneled wall so I would imagine it can be done on just about any surface.
