Broken End Table Makeover

This end table had seen better days when my dad picked it up at a yard sale for me. He knows I love a good makeover and he thought this was a great candidate.
He was right.
When I was taking the “before” pictures, I could not find the top of the table. It had been broken off, but it was still intact. From the marks on the left side of the table, I think it used to be a part of a vanity.

Since the shell of the end table was in such great condition, it was a perfect piece to do a makeover that incorporates both stain and paint.
The veneer was easy to remove from the drawer fronts. After it was off, I sanded the drawers and stained them a dark color.
The rest of the table was in good condition so I painted it a creamy white color. The table top was found and all I needed to do with that was sand it down and add the same stain to it that I put on the drawers.
I love the mix of paint and wood together. The original hardware was still with this piece and looks great with the makeover. To see more details and the paint and stain colors I used, check out my blog post.

If your dad paid for the piece he paid too much. People on Craigslist can't give stuff like this away. You must have the rest of the vanity cause the missing pull obviously came from that half. A pair of these would be far more worth the trouble IMO.
