How to Paint an Outdoor Rug

Easy
Outdoor rugs can be expensive, and I never want to spend too much money because often times they don't last much longer than 1 summer. Plus, when you have a small or awkwardly shaped space, it can be hard to find a rug that actually fits!
I decided to create my own outdoor rug, and it cost me less than $30 to completely customize it for our city balcony.
I found a plain beige rug from Home Depot for $20 and cut it in half (2 rugs for the price of 1!). I also picked up a variety of paint samples from the store in white, yellow, and shades of blue.
After marking off the striped areas, I got to town painting.
Didn't it turn out great?! So vibrant and pretty. Plus, it's completely customized so we could create exactly what we wanted.

But the best part? This rug still looks vibrant months later and the paint has stayed on there perfectly. Can't beat that!
