    • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Jul 25, 2016
I actually have some brand new sconces in a box haha. May have to dig them out and see if they'll work.

Mix in with a large scale gallery wall. Or somehow use them as ceiling medallions like this: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/pottery-barn-wall-art-turned-ceiling-medallion-6721483

I could see putting some plexiglass over them and making tops for end tables. For the bottoms, depends upon the decor and where you might use them. Maybe a rustic wood box? Maybe iron plant stands that match? Some small nightstands with drawers? Or one large peice of plexi glass for a dinning table?

Those are some great ideas. ..there is so many possibilities. All of yours included. I can see you are a creative thinker...haha. Me too. So you see my dilemma 🙆

I have never made my own stepping stones but I would have a pan larger than the irons. Pour in your medium then press the irons into them and once set pull out the irons to use for next stones. Spray with oil so they will slide of the concrete maybe. you would have a lovely walkway doing that other than only 2 stones. afterwards clean them up and hang on wall or fence, to carry out the pattern.

Since you have a pair I would loop some ribbon, rope, leather belts, what ever went with your design style and use them as drapery tiebacks.

I just used one over the chandy in my dining room, mounted at the ceiling...and the outcome was spectacular! Then you have one left for a wall somewhere.

I have one exactly like your, but it's black. Have it hanging on a dark green wall. I tested in some of these ideas. Have two similar maroon pieces that are begging to be used...
  • Giselle Giselle on Jul 25, 2016
I would use them as a medallion over a chandelier.
  • Sparkles Sparkles on Jul 26, 2016

  • Sparkles Sparkles on Jul 28, 2016
have you decided what you will do with them yet?
    • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Jul 28, 2016
Well. .no. .lol. But I picked up an old wood frame mirror yesterday. Its long enough and the pieces would fit perfectly vertically attached to the front. Would have to refinish the wood too thou
  • Elaine Elaine on Jul 28, 2016
You haven't said how large they are, Mary, unless I'm missing something on my iPad. However, I have two similar ones that I painted black with cheap craft paint and mounted them on a narrow wall in a vertical fashion - one on top of the other. I also was going to use them in a wall grouping but liked them better on a narrow strip of wall that's between two bedrooms. Any prints or paintings I had were just too large but my iron pieces fit the space perfectly.

Sounds good! I realize I made an error in typing "on top of each other" - I should have typed "one above the other" but figured you'd know what I meant. lol.
  • Gina Gina on Jul 28, 2016
They really are! When I find any wrought iron at thrift shops and yard sales I buy them! very expensive in antique shops and garden shops!
    • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Jul 28, 2016
You should see the table I just found at Goodwill. Wrought iron base and glass top. I quess it's an end table. Old and dirty. But that's what I like. ..lol $5

    • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Jul 30, 2016
Exactly what I was thinking as I just picked up a long wooded frame mirror. They would fit perfectly. Just have to refinish the wood. I was thinking like this. . And attaching them to the front

I had two large square pieces (36x36). I painted white and used behind the bed as a "headboard". My bed didn't have a headboard, so I just attched them to the wall. They look GREAT!

Cut out a hole in 2 of your center top cabinet doors and place them in the middle of them. You can buy opaque glass or buy a "tinted" glass roll already and apply it in the back of your two beautiful iron pieces. The result is amazing!!! This I know; as I did it in my own kitchen!!!
  • Susan Axsom Curtis Susan Axsom Curtis on Jul 30, 2016
I would paint them with a crackle finish then hang as art or you could frame them To frame them get pieces of plywood that is 12 inches + the width of the piece and 12 inches +height of the piece. Cover the plywood with clothe that makes the painted wrought iron pieces POP. Frame. Hang.
  • Susan Susan on Jul 31, 2016
Spray the color you like, or leave as ease. Hang as wall art. Very 'in' this year.
  • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Jul 31, 2016
I didn't noticed until today when I had my reading glass on....the paint is black but has tiny specks of gold. I'd hate to paint over it ... and actually, the paint overall looks good. How should I clean it?
    • Michelle Jacobs-Anderson Michelle Jacobs-Anderson on Jul 31, 2016
dawn dish soap. just wash down quick with a repurposed cloth scrap (that is what i use to clean with use old tooth brush for small spaces ) and spray them clean, air dry.

    Hang them on your fence.
  • Judy Judy on Jul 31, 2016
Yes, I just have to make sure I don't become a hoarder! lol
  • Make kitchen trivets, put small rubber feet on underside and you have two beautiful trivets.

I recently put a similar piece on my dining room ceiling, where our chandelier is. We cut out the center so the wires would run through the center...the result was amazing ! Then hang the other on a wall...

OR put them side by side or end to end on the ceiling...don't know how big they are...

  • Dot D Collett Dot D Collett on Feb 24, 2017

After I filled up my dining wall with collected trivets I started hanging wrought iron pieces outside on trellises and fences. The blank wall is next if I can work out how to hang them with adding nails holes in the vinyl siding.

    • Mary Weaver-Davis Mary Weaver-Davis on Feb 27, 2017

That's actually a great idea. It's that time of year again when my backyard is my focus. And these iron pieces are still not being used. Thank you

The design is beautiful I agree with making them into wall art. I don't agree with using Dawn to clean them. Try just using water and a gentle brush. If that doesn't work then go for the chemicals.
