A plant had been watered too much and the water overflowed the saucer and had set for a few days. Now a white ring is there, and ideas on how to remove it?

Try using witch hazel. Use a cloth dampened with witch hazel and rub on white ring. Worked great for me.

I use a small amount of white toothpaste on a damp cloth and rub over the white ring.....then wipe paste residue off with damp cloth.

Make a paste using a teaspoon of salt and a few drops of water and rub it over the rings with a cloth. Keep working the finish until the rings disappear. Touch up the repair with furniture polish. 2 Mix a solution of equal parts of white vinegar and olive oil and rub it into the spots as an alternative to using salt. Keep rubbing until the spots disappear. You won't have to touch up with furniture polish when you use this method. 3 Spread petroleum jelly on the rings and let it sit overnight as another option for removing white rings. When you rub the substance off in the morning, the rings should be gone.

I spread the ring with mayonaise and let it sit overnight. It usually ends the spot.
