New Box in Mailbox Bed

We just put in a new mailbox in our mailbox garden bed this week. It's metal and brown and matches our chocolate brown house trim. Now I know that a new mailbox is no big thing...but our old one was so chipped and tacky from stones and winter plows it was embarrasing. And this new one sure lifts my spirits in a hot and dry July in Michigan. Just having a clean, crisp and non chipped box is a "happy thing" at The Small House Under a Big Sky. Now, hum.... what can I make with the old scratched, chipped and dented one...

New mailbox at the Small House in SW Michigan.
Our rural mailbox sits right along side the roadway. The bed is three 4 X 4 wolamanized boards stacked three high.

Oh yes, you can do it-go for it! If I lived somewhere else (not so rural, dry and rough near the roadway with large truck roaring by) I dream of a purple, large flowering clematis winding its way around my new mailbox. Sigh! Between sand, hot sun, wind and snowplows, I settled for these hardy flowers below!
