I want to strip and paint my kitchen cabinets. What is the best paint to use?

    Hi Susan,

In my experience, the best paint to use is a good quality oil primer followed by a good quality oil finish paint. Oil has better durability over latex products.

Do you have an opinion on latex paint on cabinets with an over coating of polyurethane, or other protective coating?

I used the cabinet paint and i really liked it. I did use kilz first. IT came out really smooth and it is latex not oil. I also had no problems with cleaning it either. I used it on wood grained formica cabinets if it worked on them it will work better on wood! I used a small roller. I also saved money by spray painting the fixtures with silver paint.
